We firmly believe that culinary excellence can and should go hand in hand with responsible consumption, care for the environment and sustainability. For this reason, we are proud to employ responsible practices in every step of our process, from the meticulous selection of ingredients (opting for local, seasonal and proximity products) to the conscious management of our resources.

Aware of the values of the Parc Natural de l’Albufera, the Es Comu area, and the beach of Muro, we ensure our activity under the premises of strict environmental standards, with ISO 14001 certification since 2020.

As we know that hard data says more than a hundred words, here is some of what we have achieved at Ponderosa Beach over the last few years. We have reduced water consumption by 35% in the last 5 years, as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere (carbon footprint) by 22%.

Waste reduction is a ‘must’ at Ponderosa Beach, which is why our water bottles are bottled on site with high quality water and a refillable system, reducing disposable containers, and we eliminated all single use and single dose items in the establishment years ago*.

* offering them only for our ‘take away’ service, and always with compostable mats in that case.

The waste we inevitably generate is segregated according to the corresponding fractions and collected by the municipal waste management system for efficient recycling. A guarantee of this is the ‘Plastic Free’ recognition, achieved by Ponderosa Beach in 2023.

Part of our commitment to sustainability is to be able to monitor our actions, evaluate them and thus be able to continue our commitment to more responsible catering. The exhaustive monitoring of our performance allows us to analyse our trends and establish objectives for continuous improvement.
